Client La Marseille
Our relationship grew from an extended sit down where our designers and the Marketing Team from La Marseille discussed a product idea to launch a cosmetic brand in S.E. Asia to a specific price point for a specific market segment.
Our initial work was to help put together a presentation to show manufacturing and distribution partners the potential of such a product launch. However in the course of the meeting, the value of a strong brand and original packaging design was realized and we were commissioned to produce initial designs.
Moving from the logo to the packaging design.
Once the brand was established it was time to move to creating packaging styles, looks, etc. for a variety of product lines. Maintaining a strong core identity was crucial as this was a start-up venture that needed as much visibility as possible.
The central product was a premium line of skincare and cosmetics. By using the architectural elements of the La Marseille M in the packaging design we developed a series of boxes that used the energetic diagonals and verticals to attract attention. Combined with classical blacks and golds the overall look maintained a level of sophistication without being overly simplistic.
Creating the secondary product lines.
After the core packaging was designed we moved onto the secondary tiers, a natural line and a line for teens. Instead of following the cliched organic packaging designer elements we carried forward the geometric style and introduced a strong typographic approach to informing the consumers.
That design choice then influenced the teen product, with light hearted script we contrasted the main line but maintained strong colour connections. Overall the packaging design is weighted towards the core products using both colour, and design elements.
La Marseille is moving forward and we are excited to see the product on store shelves, our Manila office designers will be sure to post some pics as soon as they are available.
