Working with Dean taught us a lot about the headphone industry. Did you know that all headphones, no matter the price-point, are all based around the same technology (with variations in material spec). Well ClarityOne shakes up that industry secret with their patented sound technology.
Starting with ear-buds, the product line expanded to over-the-ear headphones in black and white. We were asked to design the packaging for the new products and jumped at the chance.
A clean design for a high tech look.
The brand already had a number of products on the market, so carrying over the look and feel was an important part of this process. As a product window was not part of the brief the right product shot was key for this design.
Instead of a straight profile of the product we decided to turn one of the ear covers to face the camera. This served a number of purposes, it showed more of the product from the design of the ear sections as well as the plushness of the ear cover as well as the brand a second time. Finally we had to deal with the cord and controls which created the foundation for the box elements.
Instruction manual design and layout.
Once the packaging was finished our graphic designers got working on the instruction manual, including custom illustrations and icon creation.
While not generally considered as important as the box, clear and easy to follow instructions help customers get the best product experience and improve overall satisfaction.
The packaging product shot.
A number of product shot options were considered to complete the packaging design for our client. The final shot being a composite of 4 separate images, this allowed for the perfect lighting, perspective and structure of the product.
While working on the project, Dean was generous enough to bring some samples for the designers to use, they really do stand out!
